One of ten finalists in the global call for electrical storage start-ups

Amsterdam, The Netherlands – 22 March 2019. STABL/m-Bee came through as one of ten finalists from over 220 competitors in the worldwide InnoEnergy call for electrical energy storage systems and pitched in front of the jury and audience. In the renowned Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, STABL only had to admit defeat to the teams from Battrion and instagrid after long consultation. The two winners were each awarded €100,000.

“Energy storage is the linchpin technology for the clean energy system of the future,” affirms Diego Pavia, InnoEnergy CEO. “We are looking to bring the most innovative electrical storage solutions on board at the European Battery Alliance. This call has allowed us to identify the most promising solutions across the world and bring innovation to boost the competitiveness of the battery value chain in Europe, which is EBA’s main mission.”

The ten finalists were: Battrion, instagrid, AVILOO, WATTALPS, Skoon Energy B.V., TWAICE, VoltStorage, Powervault, Gaia Membranes, and STABL/m-Bee.

The ten finalists will gain access to a network of over 400 partners, including specialized business angels, the InnoEnergy VC community and public funding agencies. In addition, the finalists will receive mentors and advice at board level as well as free admission to European energy events such as The Business Booster – InnoEnergy’s annual network event where energy companies meet start-ups and innovations in one place.

The application process consisted of five phases: an initial application, an internal review, a 5-minute video pitch and an external expert assessment. The 21 finalists remaining after this assessment then presented their ideas to two parallel juries, with ten winners selected for the final round.

  • Value proposition
  • Addressable market size
  • Product/service scalability
