How the Rießner group powers ahead with its new battery storage for power optimization and peak shaving
The world of gases – since 1945, Rießner Gase GmbH has provided tailored solutions for gas supply, whether for large industrial companies or private customers. The family-owned business has grown into a regional leader in technical and medical gases, food-grade, testing, and specialty gases, as well as propane. In addition to their headquarters at Dr. Rießner GmbH & Co. KG in Michelau, Upper Franconia, and their base in Lichtenfels, the company now has locations in Chemnitz, Frankfurt, and the Czech Republic.
Their own energy transition has become a success story since November 2024, thanks to the 20ft STABL Battery Storage System with 1230 kWh capacity and 405 kW power. The company has implemented this system at their real estate company’s headquarters in Michelau. The excess energy from their existing PV systems, with a total capacity of 425 kWp, is now stored in the new buffer storage system. This setup will play a crucial role in the sustainable storage of solar energy and reducing peak loads. At the same time, the Rießner Group prefers to use grid electricity during low spot market prices, significantly lowering grid usage fees and contributing to grid stability.
