Full of energy for the future
Since 1945, Rießner Gase GmbH has been providing everyone with the right solution for their gas supply, whether large industrial companies or private customers. The family-owned company has become a leading regional supplier of technical and medical gases, food, test and specialty gases as well as propane.
In addition to the Dr. Rießner GmbH & Co. KG site in Michelau in Upper Franconia and the base in Lichtenfels, the group now has sites in Chemnitz, Frankfurt am Main and the Czech Republic.
Since November 2024, the company has been realizing its own private energy transition for its real estate company and its headquarters at the Michelau site thanks to the 20ft STABL battery storage system with 1230 kWh and 405 kW.
The surplus electricity from the company’s own PV systems with an output of 425 kWp is fed into the new buffer storage system. In future, this will make an important contribution to the sustainable storage of solar energy and peak load reduction. At the same time, the Rießner Group prefers to use grid electricity at times of low spot market prices, which significantly reduces grid usage fees and actively contributes to grid stability.
"With the battery storage system, we also offer the tenants on our company premises a reduced CO2 footprint and thus a clear location advantage over other areas," says Hans-Georg Rießner happily.
The automotive grade battery modules used in this project come from production surpluses and are thus given a second chance, but above all a sustainable purpose. Thanks to the unique modular inverter technology, the battery storage systems are particularly efficient, easy to maintain and therefore extremely durable.
“We chose STABL because they made us the best and most suitable offer. Right after the initial discussions, we realized that we were in the best hands here. To put it bluntly, the guys know what they’re talking about,” says Managing Director Hans-Georg Rießner, describing his motivation to work with the STABL team to implement the energy transition at the company headquarters.
