Optimising self-consumption means using as much of the self-generated electricity as possible directly in your own business. Without battery storage, this is only possible to a limited extent: surplus solar power that is not consumed immediately must be fed into the public grid – often at low feed-in tariffs. At the same time, expensive grid electricity has to be purchased when demand is higher. A battery storage system avoids precisely this by temporarily storing surplus energy and making it available when it is really needed.

With a battery storage system, you can significantly increase your self-consumption: surplus electricity from your photovoltaic or wind power system is not fed into the grid unused, but stored temporarily. This means that your self-generated energy is available to you exactly when you need it – for example in the evening or when you are working at full capacity. This reduces grid consumption, lowers your electricity costs and makes you less dependent on fluctuating energy prices.
