Milestone: 50 MWh of Installed Storage Capacity in Operation

Munich, September 23, 2026 – STABL Energy is accelerating the expansion of its storage infrastructure with 50 MWh of storage capacity already in operation and 100 MWh in the planning stages.

STABL has reached a major milestone in its corporate development: A total of 50 MWh of battery storage capacity has already been installed and commissioned in customer projects. In addition, another 100 MWh is currently in the planning and implementation stages. The Munich-based battery technology company is benefiting from the growing demand for safe, cost-effective, and resource-efficient energy storage solutions “Made in Europe.”

This latest success underscores the successful scaling of the company’s sales and project activities. More and more industrial companies, energy utilities, and operators of critical infrastructure are turning to battery storage to reduce their energy costs, make better use of renewable energy, and make their energy supply more resilient and less dependent on fossil fuels.

“Reaching 50 MWh of installed storage capacity is far more than just a number to us. It shows that our technology has gained a foothold in the market and that customers are increasingly turning to future-proof storage solutions. Battery Storage is Becoming a Central Component of the Energy Transition

The expansion of renewable energy, the increasing electrification of industry and mobility, and growing demands on grid stability are significantly driving up demand for energy storage systems. The market is growing rapidly: In Germany, approximately 6 GWh (source) of battery storage capacity at the medium-voltage level and above is now in operation. Austria has an installed battery storage capacity of more than 3.2 GWh (source), with a large portion of this consisting of smaller storage systems with a capacity of less than 50 kWh.

Consequently, the ability to intelligently integrate storage into industrial energy systems and utilize it economically for various applications is becoming increasingly important. At the same time, “cybersecure” energy supply solutions from Europe are coming more into focus for companies and energy providers.

“The energy transition requires not only more renewable generation, but above all significantly more storage capacity. Assets such as battery storage systems are clearly critical to the infrastructure. Our experience shows that, in this context, the issue of data security on German or European servers in particular, as well as the general fact that they originate from ‘secure’ countries, is a key factor in the purchasing decision,” notes Truong.

Technology for More Resource-Efficient Battery Use

STABL Energy is pursuing a technologically innovative approach. The modular multilevel inverter architecture enables the individual control of separate battery modules within a storage system. This makes it possible to use batteries from different manufacturers, with different chemistries, and at different stages of aging together within a single system. Unlike conventional systems, performance is not limited by the weakest battery. This increases the system’s reliability, improves utilization, and enables the use of a wider range of batteries for commercial storage projects in the C&I and utility sectors.
